《冰封地狱》是该乐队在1994年奇迹般复活后推出的专辑。唱片标题暗示出当年
的这些乐坛猛将在迟暮之年已将昔日矛盾彻底冰释。此碟有四首全新制的新曲奉送，
其余是历年来老鹰乐队在美国各地演出的现场版本的合辑，每首歌曲都散发着现场
演唱的魅力。具有震撼的效果。“TAKE IT EASY”，“HOTEL CALIFORNIA”,
“DESPERADO”等经典金曲均被一网打尽，气氛好到无以复加。 录音要多说两句事
实上，这张CD已成为世界各地音响迷、各类Hi-Fi演示的必播之碟。它的录音电平比
一般要高，最迷人的是乐器坚实的结像，固若金汤的音像定位和弹性非常饱满的低频效果。
而宽阔无比音场和似梦似真的舞台活生感，在好的音响中重播亦会让你拍案称奇，而观众
的鼓掌声听起来则有肉有骨。 这辑最迷人之处是饱满的人声，结实的吉他声，低沉有弹性
的贝司与鼓，所有乐器与人声的质感都很鲜明，以及庞大的现场音效,无与伦比的音质，
每首歌散发着现场演唱的魅力，具有震撼的效果。其中，最有味道的当属老鹰乐团的
《Hotel california》。全球乐迷公认的必备珍藏品，全球烧友公认试音碟，收录15首
演唱会经典巨作，感受老鹰乐队临场震撼。
XRCD是采用日本JVC公司开发的K2接口，包括了Mastering设备、制造工序、硬件与理论等多方
面成果。发明这一技术，在CD制作的各个环节都以独创的主时钟系统对时基进行控制，使CD制版
的抖晃失真系数以及玻璃母模的组误差系数有大幅降低，制版精度相应地则有大幅提高，从而
使CD制作中的保真度有了很大的保证。
XRCD可以说是完美的16位,不需要任何附加设备,在任何一部唱机上都能表现出CD的最高音响效果来。
JVC公司为了保持XRCD品牌的优势，在选择母带品质上极为严格，而且对母带的XRCD再制作、刻母盘、压片等各工序都有严格的要求，加之技术保密等原因，JVC公司严格规定只能在本公司的本土的定点制作室及定点工厂加工生产。由于这些特性，即使是以数字对数字的刻制母盘这样严格方式进行非法复制，加工时不使用XRCD技术，XRCD的优势也将毫无显现。因此XRCD又被称为是"不能被盗版的光盘"
。
